Impostor is a story about the lengths a man will go to protect the woman he loves.

Following an explosion Kenn Michael Harrison awakes in a morgue with his face disfigured, just as a coroner is about to perform a post mortem on him. 

Later in hospital, he receives a visit from Lance Stevens who will pay for Kenn Michael's facial reconstruction. However, driven by insecurity, Lance has one condition; Kenn Michael must agree to have a complete change of appearance.  He and Lance have now become rivals for the love of the same woman, Jennifer Claire, with James now out of the way.

A year later, his appearance completely altered and unrecognizable to Claire, Kenn Michael attends her wedding.  While he appears to have given up gracefully, Kenn Michael reminds Lance that he's starting his marriage out with a lie. Kenn Michael  warns Lance he will be looking over his shoulder and Lance had better not ever do wrong by Claire or he will regret the day he was born.

Over the next decade, Kenn Michael revives his rock musician career which he was forced to give up in his 20's because he had almost paid the ultimate price. He again rises to the top ad an international rock star under the name of Mike Harper with many joys and sorrows and triumphs along the way...but there remains a void in his heart that cannot be filled by anyone but 'her'. 

Occasionally, his Lance's and Claire paths cross over the years, and he's forced to face the fact that his feelings for Claire haven't diminished. This situation is made more difficult for both him and Claire when they realize that they reciprocate each other's feelings...very intensely. Lance is also aware of their feelings, and he's eaten up inside by the lie he's forced all three of them to live.
Lance then learns that he's terminally ill. However, before he dies, he calls Kenn Michael to his hospital bedside and asks him to take care of Claire and their children when he's gone. Kenn Michael agrees to do so. Meanwhile on his death bed Lance starts to tell Claire something about Kenn Michael but never finishes.

While their feelings continue to burn ever so brightly for each other despite how much Claire loved her husband, she's reluctant to become involved with the man she knows as Mike Harper, whom for the life of her, she can't figure why he keeps reminding her of her old friend Kenn Michael; Kenn Michael whose friendship and support had been a lifeline to her during her abusive marriage to James Brandon; Kenn Michael whom she believes is dead as a doornail and now lays entombed in a crypt in Manchester.

Claire begins to have suspicions about Mike Harper. For the next two years events would culminate that cause her to come to the conclusion that the illustrious, uber- successful international rock star Mike Harper whom her kids absolutely adore, and Kenn Michael Harrison are one and same...

Can she forgive him and Lance for the lie they perpetrated over the past 12 years?
