My name is Barak, which means lightning in Hebrew. My birth
name, however, was Jake Lawson. Most people see me as a hero. Am I? I have
great powers. Through the prophecy, the power was bestowed upon me when I
reached adulthood. I have saved many people. I have sacrificed my time and
my love-life for the sake of the world. Sacrifice: the way of the hero. Yet,
in the core of my heart, revenge lurks. How can I not feel vengeful? Philip
Walker, my former best friend, murdered my father.
For a long time, because of his supernatural strength,
certain people thought that Philip was Barak, the one who would defeat the
two Antichrists. The two, at different times, would seek control over the
world. I later learnt that Philip had obtained his power from a situation
that happened 5000 years ago: the Messiah would come from the descendants of
Noah. Satan saw this as a threat. He decided to have sexual intercourse with
the females of that family. Satan believed this infiltration could prevent
the Messiah from coming. It failed. 5000 years passed and this bloodline
lived on in Philip Walker. The satanic gene works in this way: It searches
for characteristics within the body that could activate its power. This
supernatural power activated itself in Philip’s body. Apparently, he
possessed the right characteristics.
Philip ended up siding with Satan. Satan promised him greater
power if he kills Barak … if he kills me. The hunt is on.
