Corporal Deron James is on the Vancouver Police department. Deron’s partner is Curtis Matthews. They have been out on a run when they get a call about a big man going berserk at a motel. When James and Curtis get there; the man, Manuel Vega is acting crazy and cannot be cuffed, when the man pulls a knife, they taser him. It took two times of being tasered before Manuel fell and then died. From then on, both Curtis and Deron were known as the Taser Cops.

Curtis Matthews is married to Holly, a woman who does not like his police life. When the incident about the tasered man hits the news, his wife is furious. Both Curtis and Deron are trying to keep a low profile for a while but it seems everywhere they go they are known for police brutality. Curtis only hopes this will end or pass soon.

Deron takes a vacation and goes down to find out more about Manuel Vega, he knows that being tasered twice should not have killed the man, and even the autopsy shows this, but something must have set the man off. No drugs were shown in Manuel’s system so what is going on? As Deron investigates Manuel, he learns that there is a lot going on not only with Manuel but with his family as well. Deron and Curtis set out to set things right, but what follows is betrayal, lies and more mysteries. Would Deron or Curtis ever be free from the Manuel Vega death?

This is an exceptional suspense. Ms. Lewis does an excellent job in keeping the mystery and suspense going and never really revealing what or who did it. From the first you are drawn in to the tale with murder of Manuel. Then starts the roller coaster ride of so many twists and turns, you are never sure of who are what. This is a great mind teaser for those who love a great mystery. This is was a sensational suspense you will not want to miss.
